Take a second and consider this: what is your most valuable skill? Is it public speaking, analytical thinking, problem-solving or something else? Think about how long you’ve worked to perfect that skill and where you’d be without it. Around the world, millions of young people are finding barriers to work due to a lack of training, skills and support in priority areas. On World Youth Skills Day, July 15, we’re doing our part to ensure you receive the preparation you need and the guidance to act on it.
Choosing a Career Path
Our company president, Ross Giombetti, recently appeared on Mass Appeal to discuss how students can navigate and decide on both a career and life path. Ross said one of the most important aspects of this decision is understanding who you are as a person and where your strengths lie—but equally important is understanding who you’re not. There’s no set path for everyone; you need to find the path that is right for you.
It’s also crucial to learn about your cultural and environmental fit within an organization. You may be in a business that utilizes your talents, but if you’re unhappy with the culture, then you are never going to be working to your full potential. Our Performance Dynamics® behavioral assessments can help provide insights that you may not have yet discovered about yourself.
Student Career Coaching
To find your path, you need to assess your strengths, and we can help. Our Student Career Coaching services can help determine which careers would best suit those strengths and which colleges are best to attend for those careers. Our services are split into two levels:
- Level One is ideal for high school juniors or seniors preparing for college. We provide exploratory conversations to build trust, assistance with college essay writing, competitive advantages for college resumés, application process assistance, Performance Dynamics® and more.
- Level Two is ideal for high school juniors or seniors who prefer a more immersive experience. We provide various workshops for the students and their families, a fluid relationship throughout college with check-ins to measure growth, platform skills presentations, mock interviews, connections with mentors for internships, future careers and more.
Just remember, there is no timeline for determining what you want to be—many adults are still trying to figure it out. If you have any questions about how we can help you develop your skills, don’t hesitate to reach out and contact us.
